Why we work
To support children facing educational disadvantage by helping them access essential school resources and opportunities, in partnership with schools and communities.
The Peter Mpofu Education Foundation (PMEF) is an education-focused foundation established to honour the memory of the late Peter Mpofu and carry forward his commitment to community service and supporting education.

The late Peter Mpofu
The late Peter Mpofu was a hardworking entrepreneur, a respected community leader and a man whose generosity changed lives. As Sabhuku (village head) of Nekati Village in Goromonzi District, Zimbabwe, he led by example, guided by compassion, empathy and a genuine commitment to helping others.
Through determination and an entrepreneurial spirit, he worked hard to build a better life, but never forgot the importance of lifting others along the way.
Education was particularly close to his heart. He personally paid school fees for many people, both relatives and non-relatives, helping them remain in school and pursue opportunities that might otherwise have been beyond their reach.
The depth of his impact became especially evident at his memorial service, when a man stood up in tears to share how Peter Mpofu had paid his school fees throughout his entire secondary education. It was a powerful reminder that his generosity had not simply helped someone through school; it had made a lasting difference in their life.
Peter Mpofu believed in giving others a chance, asking for nothing in return. His life demonstrated that true leadership is found in service and that the greatest measure of success is the lives we touch.
The Peter Mpofu Education Foundation was established to honour this extraordinary legacy and continue the work he began during his lifetime.
